Spirit Beast, Get!

MIEN!

For a long time, after countless loops of various locales in-game, I found myself repeatedly emo-ing over my lack of a spirit beast. I had finally settled into a sort of acceptance – my hunter would always be lacking a Spirit Beast, and would be stuck with a wolf or her Devilsaur. This probably wasn’t a horrible thing for her DPS (at least, in Marks spec), but part of me seriously ached for a shiny rare beastie. I admit, my reaction was a helluva lot worse pre-medication, but still.

I finally got one last week, on August 28 – and it’s the one I’ve lusted after since it was added to the game.

So, Bouqueters, help me out. Arcie here needs a proper name! I’m looking for something befitting of a bear, bonus points if it’s a name from mythology that is a little Trolly. Try me, folks.

ALSO: Be sure to congratulate LODUR, whose hunter snagged a spiritbare tonight! WELCOME TO THE BARE CLUB, DUDE!

Am I a raider yet?

Maybe a baby raider, maybe.

I started into ICC on my Warlock, Bellerona, a couple of weeks ago with the Harbingers of War – that is, my guild. My family on TB. My favourite bunch of people ever. I would leave Canada to be with these people, I am not kidding. They keep me sane when I would otherwise just… completely lose it.

So, they took me into Icecrown Citadel after plenty of waffling on my part and I haven’t regretted it one bit. I enjoy Destruction Warlock DPS – more than most other caster classes, I think (sorry mages) – and seeing those five-digit crits only makes it better (moonkin is close second). I’ve been working on her gear off and on between runs – though I haven’t been available for ICC for a few weeks – and I think I’m starting to catch up. Slowly but surely.

I have also had a taste of raid healing on my Druid, Varkev, thanks to a VoA 10 run and a Naxx 10 Patchwerk run. The Naxx 10 was a trade pug that surprise the absolute hell out of me since it was made up mostly of people from some of TB’s raid guilds (including Bloodrite, Order of the BlackLotus, Winterfell-with-the-funky-letters and Guardian) … so I felt a sense of “Oh holy shit I’m among people that know what they’re doing”. Since it was Naxxramas, people knew what they were doing and a lot of folks were overgeared, there were no issues – everyone was polite and it was fun. Varkev’s gear is a mix of epics from the 200-232 levels, and I’m desperately seeking more spellpower and haste.

Thank you, Harbies, for giving me the guts to get in there and do somethin’. I love you guys, and I will do whatever it takes to make sure that Harbie Raids continue to be awesome and fun (like passing my connection issue from Monday night on to some folks from TBDF, maybe, SSSH).

Bell will start saving her frosties for T10, while Varkev - once he gets his T9 for resto – will work on his tank set. I’ll also slowly work on Matojo because, damn it, I want him to Shield Slam some baddies sometime soon.

In UI news, I changed over to Tapestry UI and I think I like Grid. It’s taking some getting used to, but I’m not wanting to beat the hell out of it yet.

No, I am not going back to using Clique. Yet. Grrrr.

Rambling On

"ARISE MY MINIONS, CARRY OUT YOUR MASTER'S WILL!"

I sort of love that rat-gathering quest in the Deeprun Tram; it is strangely adorable if one doesn’t think of what actually happens to those rats (omnomnom).

That’s Reislyn, the human Priest on Zul’jin, who’s now level 22 and sporting some nice dungeon loot. I pretty much spend my healing time casting Flash Heal and Renew as I wait to get some of the juicy Holy Priest talents.

That’s right, she’s a Holy Priest. Holy is new to me, it’s bizarre, it makes me go “ohGodswhatamIdoing”. I tried it on Grin’dal once. Once. That didn’t end well – I was geared with mucho concentration on Crit and Int because, as Disc, it worked best. My heals would crit, I’d make more bubbles, I would be a happy lady. So Godsdamned happy.

Grin didn’t have the regen stats or Spellpower or Haste for Holy. Thus, I’m starting a … Holy priest.

The Forsaken version of Reis will probably be Holy, too, but for purely in-character reasons.

Anyway.

Gahiji: Tank, Dragon-Friend, Owner of Sexy Pants

Why yes, I *am* the pretty one.

I finally got off my ass (or onto my ass, whatever) and nabbed the Tier 9 pants for Gahiji. My goal with him is to replace all of his blues and his Ring of Ghoulish Glee, plus his DPS sigil – so wish me luck, I’ma gonna need it. My one long-time goal of Wyrmrest Accord Revered and the Drake was accomplished earlier in the week, I just have to figure out a story for that. Hey, it has to be in-character, I’m a freaking Roleplayer and I’m very twitchy about this stuff.

Warm Fuzzies

:D ilu Signas

Varkev is my baby, a level 72 Druid tank with a long in-character history of career changes and disappearances as I struggled with playing him. Northrend changed the lad and he’s now in my good graces again.

Did I mention he’s a bear? He’s a bear.

Thanks to BBB’s posts on Druid tanking I’ve gathered up gear and stuff for him – depending on buffs, he hits 14k HP – and I uh… I love bear tanking. It’s so simple. There is such strength in that simplicity, it’s simply amazing.

And I seem to be good at it.

Signas of Akama, from one Druid to another, thank you. You kept my fuzzy butt alive and you made my night. You were awesome. <3

So, there you go, folks. Anything good happen to y’all? Tell me about it.

Random Acts of Kindness – Matojo Gets a Surprise!

I rolled an alt on Zul’jin, Tecila the Gnome Warrior, because I wanted a gnome warrior and I didn’t want to have another warrior on Moon Guard and I don’t have the room on Thorium Brotherhood for more Alliance – so, I picked ZJ (shush, Lodur). I’ve never been on a PvE server before, either (I started on Eredar, PvP, in 2005, I think).

This evening I was running around on Tecila and was asked to sign a guild charter, so I did and earned 10g for it. After learning some skills and listing a few things on the Auction House, I purchased a stack of Netherweave Cloth and started asking in Trade for a tailor.

The response was really, really fast.

Dozed made Tecila’s first bag. Two other people, including Shushka, messaged me asking if I still needed the help and I politely declined, stating I had found what I needed, and thanked them for the offer.

I logged off after getting my new bag and switched back to TB to earn some Cenarion Expedition rep on my Druid (Varkev NEEDS to be a Guardian of Cenarius) and when I logged back on about 15 minutes ago… there were four bags waiting for me in my mailbox.

Shushka, you are awesome. Thank you for being so kind to a complete stranger!

I even had to make a new category for this sorta thing – Complete Awesome.

What random acts of kindness have you lot experienced?
